E-Coat
e-Coat is an excellent corrosion resistant protection for almost any metal part. One of its main advantages is its constant paint film thickness on all the part. It is one of the favorite protective coatings for the automotive industry. Our coating has been approved by most OEM.
Our process prepares the metal part for the coating.
Pre-treatment Process
The pre-treatment process cleans and phosphates the metal as a preparation for e-coat. When required, we have the capability to remove silicate islands on your welded parts, de-scale or de-rust your parts off line. We only use RO drinking quality water on all stages, DI water on last rinses.
We have an 8 stage, multi-metal pre-treatment process that starts with a cleaner and leaves the parts protected with a zinc phosphate coating.
E-Coat Bath and Ancillary Equipment
Once conductive parts are processed through our pre-treatment, they go through our e-coat bath at the required voltage to achieve the desired paint film thickness. The e-coat is a balanced bath on a close loop system with 24/7 filtration and agitation.
Post-Rinses
As the parts exit the e-coat bath, all excess solids are returned to our e-coat bath to make the system efficient above 95% as well as to help provide an exceptional finish.
Baking Process
The bake oven cures the paint. We make sure each part gets the right amount of temperature and time required depending on type of substrate and metal thickness.
Powder Coating
We have in-house capability to powder coat the e-coated parts for additional protection (if required).
